BEATRICIA SAGAR

Beatricia Sagar's recent work is focused on Vessels which have appeared in civilizations in many forms. Through that connection to time they embody the mystery of what was and what is still to come.  Their iconic symbolism is a link to her compelling interest in Spirit and its relationship to form, pattern and color.  Since “Vessel” is the only constant, abstraction of the visual format, and invention with materials allows for the reality of the painting to remain elusive.   The surface decoration found on Vessels is another inspiration for the use of printing techniques used in previous work and a new exploration of the use of paper collaged into the larger image.
