Vanish Pointe
It is apparent to me that in this picture, a struggle for survival exists.
It could be the place where life disappears despite an optimistic Caribbean
color - surveillance, or the border crossing between one country to another,
quite likely, the point of no return.
I am inclined to incorporate lines throughout a painting and work the events
in way that allows the under painting or structure to filter through. These
lines are stabilizers, not meant to be descriptive only suggestive. As far
as I am concerned, unpainted areas of canvas are an active part of this
structure, I don't find it necessary to always fill up the canvas as the
goal is to produce a compositional arrangement that is free of restraints
and acts like a drawing.
