Cheryl Hazan Gallery presents: Open-Ended: François Bonnel & Yvonne Robert

November 11th, 2022-Cheryl Hazan Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new artworks by François Bonnel & Yvonne Robert. In this exhibition we take a deeper look at two European artists, François Bonnel & Yvonne Robert, whose artwork has stirred much attention and recognition for their specific processes. There is a communication between the two bodies of work, and yet, they are inherently different.

Open-Ended features approximately 20 paintings. François Bonnel: Music is and has always been a driving force behind Bonnel’s creative mindset. He states, “Music influences my mood.” You can decipher the rhythm found in his art. He often names the painting after the song or beat he is tuned into during the performance of creation. He continues, “I also find my inspiration in my daily environment. Nature creates masterpieces, nothing is more inspiring.”

François Bonnel resides in Toulouse, France and has been featured in exhibitions across Europe, Australia and the United States.

Yvonne Robert: The often bright and gestural paintings of Robert results from an intuitive approach to color and composition. When observing her environment, Robert perceives first and foremost the emerging color of her surroundings – whether it be bold or atmospheric. However, with Robert, to overly interpret her artform would be erroneous. It is not the thoughts or emotions of the artist that take precedence, but that of the viewer and what arises from the viewing experience.

Yvonne Robert lives in Zurich, Switzerland. She has exhibited internationally in New York, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, London, Paris, Australia and Switzerland.
