FRANÇOIS BONNEL : LES BEAUX JOURS
Press Release: for immediate release
New York - May 19th Cheryl Hazan Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of over twenty new paintings by artist François Bonnel with a complementary installation of floated, wire, sculpture by artist Michael Rex.
Bonnel is an abstract artist currently living and working in Toulouse, France. Bonnel creates art in an improvisational way, exploring various techniques and media in the process. The passionate joy of art is evident everywhere in his work, where the frankness and simplicity of line, shape, and color dissipate the message, freeing and purely unleashing his passion for art. His works can be found in the permanent collections of the Harvard Art Museum, Louis Vuitton, NY, L’Oréal, and Longchamp.
François Bonnel states “Painting is a pure pleasure, I do not paint to transmit a message or a philosophy, it is almost a selfish act”. Inspired mostly by his daily environment and the music he listens to, musicality is often embedded in his works, forming a unique personal painting language that expresses personal emotional memories through elements such as shape, color, line, and space.
We invite you to join us for an opening reception on Friday, May 19th at Cheryl Hazan Gallery from 6 to 8 pm, at 35 N. Moore Street in Tribeca. The artist and his family will be in attendance.
