Outliers: high-impact, hard to predict, and rare events that are beyond the realm of normal expectations.
: the most extreme observations
: unexpected events of large magnitude and consequence, outliers, collectively play vastly larger roles than regular occurrences
In this work I am creating pictorial descriptions or interpretations of extreme events or observations.
Using the vocabulary of painting, ie: color, composition, line I am trying to convey the same psychological and emotional impact that you might have in experiencing extreme, rare, or sublime events; that can be likened to the experience of seeing a car crash, a tsunami, or witnessing the birth of a child.
And these rare or extreme pictorial and chromatic depictions, can be considered aesthetic 'outliers'.
